GINger Champagne

Music Pairing: Bob Dylan, A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall

While Aaron is usually easy to please with a good bourbon or rum drink, Afa certainly has more refined tastes and will often default to a nice sparkling option as long as it is quite dry. To help bring the sense of exploration, Aaron is often experimenting with ways to enhance or enrich this experience for her. While the Transatlantic Love Affair (previous SonoGrub) is one of those concoctions, this is a bit more straightforward, easy and has become a regular “go-to” for Afa when she is desiring the champagne cocktail with a “kick.” Enjoy!

  • 1 ½ ounce Gin (use your personal favorite as we find gin tastes is a very personal desire)
  • 4 ounces (or fill balance of glass) dry champagne (again defer to your personal favorite although this is definitely one where you do not want to use a sweet champagne)
  • dash of angostura bitters
  • 1 fresh ginger stick
  • Bourbon spray

  1. Place fresh ginger in champagne glass
  2. Pour gin and then champagne on top to fill glass
  3. Shake a dash of bitters on top
  4. Spray bourbon mist on top (you can take any bourbon and pour into a mister and spray)
  5. Enjoy!
